What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. FS SearchFund is an unincorporated student initiative; the controller is therefore a natural person.

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Pages are delivered from Vercel’s European network and the contact form runs in Frankfurt am Main (region fra1). Because Vercel is a US company, a transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out; it is covered by Vercel’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR), and a data processing agreement is in place. Server logs record the requesting IP address, the date and time, and the page requested. They serve to keep the site secure and available (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and are kept only for a short period.
Only technically essential cookies are set at present. Anything beyond that – anonymised usage measurement, embedded third-party content – runs only after your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). The categories and how to withdraw consent are set out in the cookies policy.
When you submit the contact form, the details you enter – first and last name, email address, organisation, your stated background, how you would like to contribute, and your message – are sent over an encrypted connection to a server function in Frankfurt am Main, which emails them to our address Info@fs-searchfund.com through the Gmail mail server of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Mail to Info@fs-searchfund.com is forwarded by ImprovMX Inc. (8 The Green, Ste D, Dover, Delaware 19901, USA) to the board member’s Gmail inbox. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (Google) and on standard contractual clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR). Both providers act as processors under Art. 28 GDPR. The website itself does not store your details. We process them solely to answer you and to plan the events you offer to take part in, on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in responding (Art. 6 (1) (a) and (f) GDPR). The same applies to email you send us directly. Nothing is sold or passed to third parties for their own purposes. We delete the data once the exchange is closed and no retention obligation applies, and at your request at any time.
Under Art. 15–21 GDPR you may request access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Consent once given may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – for us that is the Hessischer Beauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Wiesbaden.
The service is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from persons under sixteen. If you believe a minor has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Eine Übermittlung in die USA ist durch das EU-US Data Privacy Framework und Standardvertragsklauseln abgesichert (Art. 45, 46 DSGVO); ein Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag besteht. Protokolliert werden IP-Adresse, Zeitpunkt und aufgerufene Seite zur Sicherstellung des Betriebs (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO); Speicherung nur kurzfristig.
Derzeit werden ausschließlich technisch notwendige Cookies gesetzt. Analyse- oder Drittanbieter-Cookies werden erst nach Ihrer Einwilligung über einen Banner aktiviert (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO).
Die im Kontaktformular eingegebenen Daten werden verschlüsselt an eine Serverfunktion in Frankfurt am Main übermittelt und über den Gmail-Mailserver der Google Ireland Limited (Dublin, Irland) per E-Mail an Info@fs-searchfund.com geschickt. E-Mails an diese Adresse leitet ImprovMX Inc. (Dover, Delaware, USA) an das Gmail-Postfach des zuständigen Vorstandsmitglieds weiter; Übermittlungen in die USA erfolgen auf Grundlage des EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Google) bzw. von Standardvertragsklauseln (Art. 45, 46 DSGVO). Beide Anbieter sind Auftragsverarbeiter nach Art. 28 DSGVO. Die Website selbst speichert die Daten nicht. Die Verarbeitung erfolgt allein zur Beantwortung Ihrer Anfrage und zur Planung der von Ihnen angebotenen Formate (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a und f DSGVO). Eine Löschung erfolgt nach Abschluss des Vorgangs sowie jederzeit auf Ihren Wunsch.
